The Young African Leaders Forum (YALF) is thrilled to announce the YALF International Summit and the launch of the fifth edition of the Young African Leaders Journal of Development (YALJOD). This prestigious event, to be held in December 2024 at the African Union Mission to the United States in Washington, D.C., will bring together young African leaders, policymakers, academics, development professionals, and members of the African diaspora to discuss critical issues impacting the continent and the role of youth in driving sustainable development.
The YALF International Summit and YALJOD Launch will feature a variety of sessions and activities designed to encourage dialogue, collaboration, and innovation:
YALF has trained and mentored thousands of young African leaders, many of whom have gone on to make significant contributions in their communities and countries.
YALF began with a series of leadership training, workshops and seminars aimed at young professionals, students, and emerging leaders.
YALF has received numerous accolades for its contributions to youth development and leadership in Africa. YALF has been recognized for its innovative programs & its role in shaping the Continent’s future leaders.
YALF participants have initiated & led projects that address critical social issues such as education, technology, healthcare, environmental sustainability, & poverty alleviation.
Empowering local communities through essential humanitarian skills training in some parts of Africa. This project focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge and resources to respond effectively to crises, fostering resilience, and creating sustainable support networks.
Empowering Sudanese youth with essential humanitarian skills training, fostering resilience, self-sufficiency, and community leadership to drive positive change and sustainable development.
The YALF STEM Education Workshops aim to address these challenges by bringing STEM education directly to the communities that need it most.
Carry out research & biennially publish the Young African Leaders Journal of Development; for the civic education of the African people and the engagement of leaders/stakeholders in development policies.
